Inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2014, Daryl Hall and John Oates released their compilation of the best songs. It includes two of their earliest hits, the Motown soul influenced "She's Gone"and "Sara Smile". The two alone is worth the price of the ticket.
Rock 'n Soul Part 1 does not seem dated even by today's standards that MFSL released a half-speed pressing as seen here . The album peaked at Number 7, and the two new songs that were written and recorded for that LP also became Top 10 hits as well.
They are "Say It Isn't So" which remained at Number 2 for an impressive four weeks from Christmas of 1983 to 84" and the other "Adult Education" which received heavy airplay at both pop and black (urban contemporary) radio, and reached Number 8 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 84" . Unforgettable was the accompanied dark, New York City-oriented music video set in a cave.
